Today I want to show you the Revere Eye-Matic EE 127 from 1959, here some facts:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Second inexpensive auto-exposure still camera<\/li>\n<li>$139.50 in 1959 ($1045 in 2010 dollars)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This was the second of the auto-exposure cameras introduced in 1959. Revere, like Bell &amp; Howell, had perfected its auto-exposure systems in movie cameras and then moved the technology to still cameras.<\/p>\n<p>This is a big, heavy camera made of painted steel, like a kitchen appliance or even a car. But, as the review from none other than Peter Gowland says (below), it worked.<\/p>\n<p>Wow was it expensive: $1045 in 2010 dollars! The Bell &amp; Howell Electric Eye 127 was $599 in 2010 dollars, and the Brownie Starmatic was only $259 in 2010 dollars.
