Every place, every time I was using my Smena Camera:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/cesardphoto.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/iewgnc6814.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1668\" title=\"Smena 8M\" src=\"https:\/\/cesardphoto.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/iewgnc6814.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"436\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cesardphoto.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/iewgnc6814.jpg 470w, https:\/\/cesardphoto.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/iewgnc6814-300x210.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 470px) 100vw, 470px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I was using this camera for vacations, trip to the Zoo and fun, then an upgrade came, a New Vilia:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/cesardphoto.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/iphgo74051.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1671\" title=\"Vilia\" src=\"https:\/\/cesardphoto.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/iphgo74051.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"436\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cesardphoto.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/iphgo74051.jpg 570w, https:\/\/cesardphoto.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/iphgo74051-300x221.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 570px) 100vw, 570px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Vilia came pretty good, you got more &#8220;control&#8221; on the camera. I was using this baby until I started Middle School, for my birthday I remembered my mother bought me a Zenit EM, I was like 12 years old, this Zenit was Da&#8217; Bomb:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/cesardphoto.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/ip8efr5305.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1670\" title=\"Zenit EM\" src=\"https:\/\/cesardphoto.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/ip8efr5305.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"446\" height=\"396\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cesardphoto.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/ip8efr5305.jpg 495w, https:\/\/cesardphoto.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/ip8efr5305-300x266.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 446px) 100vw, 446px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This one came with a light meter on top of the lens, pretty sharp though, you can change lenses, and the best thing in my opinion, was built like a Tank!, Russian Style. Zenith EM last me until almost 11 grade, I was saving my money for another upgrade. During this time, I had my own darkroom, (in my room), I remember everybody was yelling at me about the developer and fixers, the smell was really OK, nothing to worry about. I remember I used a batch of developer and fixer, expired almost 15 years, a friend gave it to me, had to keep it in the refrigerator, a whole galon of each chemical, again I was\u00a0 in pain with parent telling about this.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking of darkroom, I have to say I had a blast, nobody was bugging me, pitch black when putting the film inside the tank, I mean really good times, the whole setup was mobile, once the work was finished, I have to clean everything and dry the pictures in the other room. Man this were good times.<\/p>\n<p>The Zenit TTL:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/cesardphoto.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/i02edn5587.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1665\" title=\"Zenit TTL\" src=\"https:\/\/cesardphoto.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/i02edn5587.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"436\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cesardphoto.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/i02edn5587.jpg 454w, https:\/\/cesardphoto.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/i02edn5587-300x278.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 454px) 100vw, 454px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Back in the\u00a0 Zenit TTL this camera was the upgrade (160 Cuban Pesos, about 8 US Dollars), Now we are talkin&#8217; ~ Through The Lens ~, the light meter work pretty good, three led inside (one Yellow and another Red) will indicate Over or Under Exposure, the Green one indicates Good to Shoot!. This happiness wasn&#8217;t all around, batteries for the camera were hard to find and after almost 6 months of use, no more TTL meter, and have to migrate to another tool: The Leningrad 7 Light Meter:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/cesardphoto.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/ik630p5926.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1669\" title=\"Leningrad 7 Light Meter\" src=\"https:\/\/cesardphoto.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/ik630p5926.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"436\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cesardphoto.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/ik630p5926.jpg 495w, https:\/\/cesardphoto.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/ik630p5926-300x222.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 495px) 100vw, 495px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Leningrad worked pretty good as well, no batteries needed, kindda plastic construction but, hey, It did the work, the Selenium in the front was covered by another plastic thing, I&#8217;m not even know why (ahhhhh, I remember, if you meter under low light conditions the selenium moved to the front to capture more light).<\/p>\n<p>Well until now this was my arsenal front &#8220;Point and Shoot&#8221; Smenas and Vilias to the heavy duty Zenit, during this time I only used two lenses, the Helios 44M 58mm f\/2 and the Pentacon 135mm f\/2:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/cesardphoto.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/Helios_44-M-4_58mm_2.0_lens.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-thumbnail wp-image-1664\" title=\"Helios 44-M 58mm f2.0 \" src=\"https:\/\/cesardphoto.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/Helios_44-M-4_58mm_2.0_lens-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/> <\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/cesardphoto.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/pentacon_135mm_f2_8_M42_electric_2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-thumbnail wp-image-1672\" title=\"Pentacon 135mm f\/2.8\" src=\"https:\/\/cesardphoto.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/pentacon_135mm_f2_8_M42_electric_2-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>During this time of my life I did use another cameras: Leica M2 was my favorite, this one only used when taking photo classes over the children hospital in my town, and rarely used outside the place, I remember I can count the times I had this camera with my in my way back home, another was a Kiev camera:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/cesardphoto.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/i2eo4e4245.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1666\" title=\"Kiev Camera Rangefinder\" src=\"https:\/\/cesardphoto.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/i2eo4e4245.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"436\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cesardphoto.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/i2eo4e4245.jpg 563w, https:\/\/cesardphoto.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/i2eo4e4245-300x229.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 563px) 100vw, 563px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This Kiev was an excellent rangefinder camera, I used it because the similarity to the Leica M2, belonged to my uncle when he went to Russia for some studies. I did use too a Lubitel 166B Medium format camera, I have to tell you, shooting 120 was a lot of fun, now you can buy this Lubitels for almost 300 USD, amazing:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/cesardphoto.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/i2ww904818.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1667\" title=\"Lubitel 166B\" src=\"https:\/\/cesardphoto.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/i2ww904818.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"436\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cesardphoto.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/i2ww904818.jpg 370w, https:\/\/cesardphoto.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/i2ww904818-235x300.jpg 235w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 370px) 100vw, 370px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Well, after all this time, I went to college! the Law School I never finished, this period of time was superb in photo time literally speaking, I had a great darkroom, (just for me), great cameras, including a Praktica TL1000:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/cesardphoto.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/praktica-tl1000-1_img.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1674\" title=\"Praktica TL1000\" src=\"https:\/\/cesardphoto.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/praktica-tl1000-1_img.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"436\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cesardphoto.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/praktica-tl1000-1_img.jpg 794w, https:\/\/cesardphoto.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/praktica-tl1000-1_img-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 794px) 100vw, 794px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This picture show exactly the setup with the Pentacon 50mm f1.8. with this camera I did a lot of concert photography for a local band in my town, this camera was German (the Communist Germany, back in the days), really light in weight and the lens was super sharp, really enjoy this machine.<\/p>\n<p>&#8230;and the Pentacon medium Format:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/cesardphoto.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/pentacon-april-20-2008-020.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1673\" title=\"Pentacon Medium Format\" src=\"https:\/\/cesardphoto.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/pentacon-april-20-2008-020.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"436\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cesardphoto.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/pentacon-april-20-2008-020.jpg 700w, https:\/\/cesardphoto.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/pentacon-april-20-2008-020-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/cesardphoto.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/pentacon-april-20-2008-020-300x300.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The lens in this camera wasn&#8217;t the one I used (Pentacon 80mm f\/2), but the camera is just the same.
